CDD: Data-based market insights through structured telephone interviews

A leading investor commissioned Confluentes to carry out a nationwide primary data collection in order to gain a deeper understanding of the market environment of a specific target sector in the healthcare sector. In a multi-stage consulting process, over 2,000 actors were identified and 200 structured interviews were successfully conducted — with the aim of enabling data-based decisions for strategic measures.

Case Study: Systematic market analysis through structured primary research

Customer: Private Equity Investor

Topic: Data generation for well-founded investment decisions

A qualitative and quantitative research approach was chosen to validate existing hypotheses and generate deeper market knowledge. The aim was to create a reliable information basis for strategic decisions — by directly interviewing market participants.

Result: High-quality database due to an above-average participation rate

The interviews achieved an extraordinary conversion rate of 57%, far above typical industry expectations. The findings enabled differentiated segmentation of the market and provided valuable impetus for further strategy development.

The following steps led to the successful completion of the project

Creation of a Germany-wide contact list with 2,000 validated target contacts by using database access to Orbis & desktop research

Conducting 200 structured telephone interviews with personalized contact and targeted follow-up via email

Analysis and preparation of interview data using descriptive statistics and qualitative pattern recognition — including visualization and recommendations for action
